Movie Review:
Dastoli Digital Presents a collection of short films from the Fall of 2004 and the Winter/ Spring of 2005. This collection includes the following films which will be reviewed individually.

Complete Breakfast : 2 minutes
Weekday Service : 3 minutes
Automated Assets : 3 minutes
A Wind to Shake the Stars : 5 minutes

Complete Breakfast is a homage to cereal commercials with a twist. Instead of a toy inside of the cereal box, one finds the least likely of objects. Also included is footage on the making of this short. A lot of planning was involved in displaying an authentic-looking cereal box.

Weekday Service is a comedy about a man waiting for the bus and taking notice of a model who's picture on a billboard intrigues and at the same time, frustrates him. What happens when he meets her in person? The interesting aspect of this short film is it's originality and comedic minimalism. There is no dialog throughout this short. It is the facial expressions which speak for themselves between the actors. The Behind-the-Scenes is a fascinating look at to the number of still shots used from other Dastoli movies, including footage from Universal Studios. They blend seamlesslyinto the final film.

Automated Assets is a short film about robots who manage a "call desk" . It will make you second guess next time who exactly is on the other line when you are calling for technical support. Extra footage includes a Behind-the-Scenes look at the CGI involved with the making of the robots.

A Wind to Shake the Stars is a comedy which involves several moments time-wise of events, an evolution of sorts as to human beings and conflict. We start out with the modern day with family issues and then travel into the future with a space battle. The film then takes us back to the dawn of mankind and then onward to the present and an event taking place thousands of miles away. It is a good retrospect about human beings and problems they may face. The "Behind the Scenes" provides a look on how each segment of the film was brought together and the story behind the screenplay.

DVD Information:
The DVD contains each of the four films mentioned above with a behind the scenes short, photo galleries and film posters. The sound quality to the films is amazing and the DVD menus are very creative in terms of presentation.

Conclusion:
This collection of films by the Dastolis offer a range of topics with their style of cinematography and storytelling incorporated. This is proof that a short film can say a lot in a limited amount of time.
