Movie Review:
Dastoli Digital's Star Wars Collection Volume 1 is a compliation of three films : Crossing of Fate, Imperial Center Infomercial Channel and Respectable Employ. This collection presents a wide array of Star Wars fan films ranging from droid-based commercials to a smuggling mission.

Crossing of Fate is Dastoli Digital's first attempt in the fan-film foray. Two brothers who are Jedis in training, take on different paths with their Force skills. Or do they? It's a simple story but original and it shows that even with limited resources, a story drives a film further than flashy effects.

Imperial Center Infomercial Channel is a parody of news clips and televised shopping network programs set in the Star Wars Universe. You will treated to programs such as droids for sale, courier services, starships for sale, blasters, even a Mastercard parody just to name a few.

Respectable Employ is an action-based Star Wars fan movie based on the smuggling adventures of Deak Ross. Deak must make an important delivery but runs into more than what he bargained for. The film has a nice blend of computer graphics with live shots to give the viewer an other-worldly feeling.

DVD Information:
Crossing of Fate is filmed in Widescreen (Aspect Ratio 1.77:1). Imperial Center Infomercial Channel is in full screen and Respectable Employ is done in Anamorphic Widescreen (Aspect Ratio 2.25:1) . Each movie has it's own animated and interactive menu along with scene selections, theatrical poster, trailer and filmographies.

Crossing of Fate has a Behind the Scenes feature with the Dastoli brothers talking about the film process, origin of the script and 3D techniques. Each feature is complete with the various menu items to choose from. The audio for all 3 films is fine, particularly for Respectable Employ which was recently filmed using a better camera.

Conclusion:
Star Wars Collection Volume 1 is a great opportunity to see Dastoli Digital venturing into the sci-fi genre, particularly Star Wars which has an assortment of material to use. This DVD collection is a great way to see how fan films have progressed from their humble origins with a good story and the ambition to make it come alive.
